The Brent Store (on Cedar Lake) is an experience that many Seeker campers (and some lucky Zodiacs) are able to experience. Brent is a small Algonquin town about 10 minutes from the lake… and when we say small we’re talking approx 30 residents in the summer months.
It is tradition for canoe trippers to stop by the store (located in the business district – which was presumptively a happening place back in the logging/railroad days) and grab a cold treat. There are large white boards hanging on the outside of the store (which can be seen in the pictures) that everyone signs with permanent markers. It’s not unusual to find the names of your friends at other camps on the boards.
The Brent Store is just one more thing to look forward to on a canoe trip.
